My fall semester starts tomorrow. Y'all it is going to kick.my.ass.

I'm going to be taking two courses: a french-driven rhetoric course, and an online communities research course. I'm still(!) reading for my oral exams. I'm leading a research group in our lab. And I'm teaching my transformative works course. *bounces around*

I was sitting outside chatting with a friend yesterday, and a mutual acquaintance walked up and asked us what we were talking about. A: "the shift in hierarchical anthropologic indicators in western linguistic theory from the mid-80s to the early 2000s."

I read a lot. Like anyone else who might be reading this, those of us that read for both work and pleasure read a LOT. I have different ways and means of reading different things; fanfic over coffee, usually, rapid skimming and retention of facts and phrases for that section of philosophy I was supposed to read last week but am reading 15 minutes ( Read more... )
